- Call to Order
- Brian called the meeting to meeting at 1:15
- Guest Speakers: Bill Sullivan, director of Rokwire and professor in Landscape Architecture; and Marty Burke, leader of the SHIELD Initiative and professor in Chemistry.
- Sullivan gave an overview of the Safer at Illinois ap
- There will have 42 lines to test for COVID-19 on campus when classes start. The goal is to keep the process moving very rapidly
- Testing is simple. Can show the app on your phone or you can swipe your I card.
- Don’t eat or drink anything 30 minutes prior to the test
- Brian Brauer provided more details on campus testing and building access when classes start
- Deb Stone provided details about non-compliance and referred people to the IHR guidance, which includes case studies (https://humanresources.illinois.edu/employees/resources/announcements.html)

- This is a critical position, especially this year because we have spent all the funding allocated and we need to make sure this benefit is maintained

- Focus on return to campus events for small groups
- Public Safety Advisory Committee (Brian)
- Hasn’t met. New police chief has started
- Joint Advisory Committee on Investment, Licensing, and Naming Rights (William)

- Procedures and Elections Committee (Allie)
- District 1 vacancy election will be held soon
- Professional development committee chair and by laws committee chair are also opened
- All APs can join committees regardless of whether serving as a CAP elected seat

- Confidentiality agreements are signed by all except 1
- We will have a training session coming up at a future meeting
- Outreach Committee (Allie)
- We have not scheduled speakers for the next couple of meetings
- Inviting the new Police chief and someone from vet med to discuss COVID testing were suggested
- If people have potential speakers, send them to Allie

- There are no policies open for comment currently
- CAP will be keeping people informed about policy changes

- Academic Human Resources Report Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources
- If you haven’t read through the HR related guidance documents released on Monday, please do. There is a lot of information available. Guidance documents are posted as stand alone on the IHR COVID webpage
- Be sure to update home and campus work address and emergency contact through MyUIInfo site. Also check and update beneficiaries for benefits. This is a good practice to do each year
- The regular civil service audit was conducted the week of the shutdown. We are still waiting to hear any results of that audit. The University has proposed a demonstration project for the civil service system that would put into place some different rules for ways that we manage civil service positions assigned to qualified research projects

- Vacation Days and Sense of Safety
- Survey conducted to assess the impact of only being able to roll over 5 days. 542 responses total with additional commentary. About 20% will lose days even with the ability to roll over 5 additional days. Most are uncomfortable coming back to campus for a variety of reasons
- District reps: Identify what are the unresolved issues with respect to returning to work

- Call to Action to Address Racism and Social Injustice
- Seems to be brining out the best and worst in people. There is a new call to action around racism and social injustice
- Looking for APs to serve on a CAP working group or chair such a group so that AP concerns are conveyed to central campus
- Consider representation of growing number of staff in Chicago
