      2. Year to date: Amount Awarded:  $43,479.00, 95 recipients
      3. Update: Last month, representatives from CAP and SAC met and agreed to include CS staff in the Professional Development Fund (PDF).  The councils also agreed to subtle but timesaving changes to the criteria and procedures.  For next steps, Brian will formally outline those changes to the CHRO who will seek the final approval of the Chancellor.  Hope to start the new process on July 1.  Our thanks to both councils!
    • TEDAC temporary wind down.  While we evaluate how our shared governance and committee structure is working, TEDAC will wind down.  Bria Marcelo plans to meet with all of the members of TEDAC to gather data on their experience and recommendations.  There is a full intention of restarting a new shared governance model in Culture, Learning & Engagement in the future.  This is a pause for evaluation and a new clarified structure and purpose.
    • FLSA changes. Phase 1 of the FLSA minimum salary threshold will take place on July 1, 2024.  Requires a minimum salary of $844 per week (equivalent to $43,888 per year).  Anyone under that minimum salary must be eligible for overtime.  This impacted about 80 staff members on campus and all of them were individually notified earlier this week with the planned changes for them.  For others interested, more information can be found at https://humanresources.illinois.edu/fair-labor-standards-act-updates-resources/.
    • Doug Lamb.  Many of you know and have worked with Doug Lamb in IHR.  Doug announced his retirement a year ago and he will be deeply missed for his knowledge, skills, and professionalism. IHR intentionally hired a replacement with overlap as part of our succession given the long history and deep expertise that Doug had with our ERP/HRIS. Doug leaves us on June 30 and remains to help with the system implementation of FLSA and Paid Leave for All Workers.
    • Illinois Supervisory Skills Program Accepting Applications for Fall 2024.  Reminder that the Illinois Supervisory Skills Program is an opportunity to develop self-awareness of management styles and personal biases, to practice strategies for resolving conflict, and to build confidence in leading others through performance feedback and coaching techniques. The program is open to current academic or civil service employees who are supervisors with at least a 75%-time appointment at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Applications are due June 24, 2024. https://humanresources.illinois.edu/learning/human-resources/ill.sup.skills.prog.html
    • CAP proposal regarding leave benefits:  This proposal has been discussed with the HRLT group which includes the system and three sister campuses.  The request to look at 1 employee group suggests that HRLT look at all employee groups more holistically.  Be assured that conversations are happening, and a proposal that involves broader conversation than just Urbana.    IHR will continue collaborations on determining next steps that are aligned with the System.
    • Budget Recission Exercise for Centrally Budgetted Units. The Provost’s Budget Office has asked all Deans and Vice Chancellors to develop budget reduction scenarios of 2, 4 and 6%. The Provost discussed with campus leadership the need for mid-course correction to align spending in centrally budgeted units more closely with that of the tuition colleges.  Careful planning is necessary to address the imbalance and ensure stability for the years ahead.  I share this not to alarm, but to be transparent. It is likely that most will look at vacancies, opportunities to consolidate and/or create more efficiencies.
    • IHR Website.   The new IHR website is here!    Our goal with this redesign was to create a user-friendly browsing experience for our valued visitors. We have revamped the layout, streamlined navigation, and enhanced the overall functionality to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for.  You will notice a fresh look, improved navigation, mobile responsiveness, enhanced content, and level AA Accessibility standards.  If you encounter any issues locating a document, or have questions, please email IHR Marketing and Communications at ihr-marketing@illinois.edu. We are here to assist you and ensure that your experience with our website is as seamless as possible.
    • AP Grievance Process:  LER staff have proposed a draft of revised grievance procedures for CAP review.  The proposal is an AP process administered by LER that mirrors the CS process.  We are waiting for CAP to complete their review and will launch when we reach agreement.
    • Chancellor’s visit:  As you know, the Chancellor had a conflict for June 6 and cannot attend.  He sends his apologies and regrets.  We are working with him to get him rescheduled for a fall meeting.  While we will retain the questions submitted already, CAP has indicated they will reopen the question period.
