- Chair’s Remarks
- Thanks for all you do as APs. We provide a lot of services. The University couldn’t function without us.
- Stay alert to changes in mandates COVID 19 protocols. If you have comments about return to campus procedures, please provide feedback to campus administration.

- The Senate is working on several consent agenda items. Participation from Jessica Harke, Brian Faber, Collin Ruud, Elizabeth Meschewski
- Academic Senate Committee Reports
- Admissions: Jeannette Elliott
- The committee will be meeting next Thursday/March 10th, so nothing new to report now.
- Committees: Chaya Sandler
- The committee is starting to plan for nominations to campus committees. APs can submit interests forms on the Senate’s page.
- Educational Policy: Nicole Turner
- There will be first reading of a propal to amend academic policies on Monday.
- Elections and Credentials: Brian Faber reported Kim Graber, chair, will be stepping down. Looking for new chair.
- Regarding the eligibility of AP electorate, the committee continues to explore a more systematic and equitable way of interpreting which APs are eligible based on the existing definition.

- Public Engagement and Outreach: Sarah Christensen, Lisa Bievenue
- The committee hosted a brainstorming session. Extension has had some staffing changes in the last year that have changed previous plans. The committee is regrouping to figure out how to form a campus-wide network. Nothing concrete had been finalized but discussion are ongoing about what should happen and how to do that.

- Report given by division of intercollegiate athletics. Discussed budget and process.
- University Statutes & Senate Procedures (USSP): Collin Ruud
- Several bills have been submitted for first reading.

- CAPE Awards Committee: Tina Rolfe, Chaya Sandler
- The committee met today and have 6 finalist who will be sent to chancellor for approval.
- The committee is also discussing procedural improvements and is seeking guidance form the Chancellor’s office.

- The committee is reviewing comments on suggested revisions from HR and other input.

- Illinois Human Resources Report Deb Stone, Interim Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources
- Shari Micky-Boggs joined the University 3 days ago and has filled the position vacated by Elyne Cole.
- AP Professional Development Fund has funded 26 requests for a total of $10,364. Ten applications are pending. We were budgeted for $50,000. Any efforts to get the word out are welcomed, especially as things are starting to open up.
- The campus masking policy has been amended as per the Governor’s guidance. The transition has been seamless. Campus appreciates the respect respect for individual choices.
- There is a new bill in Springfield about COVID leave and sick leave. Campus will be watching to see if it will impacts campus employees.
- The Women & Gender in Global Perspectives Program will be hosting an International Women’s Day seminar that will include short 5 minute presentations on influential women. The Provost is one of the speakers.

- President Killeen will attend in April and please submit questions in advance.
- CAP has been asked to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the statutes from the Senate Executive Committee. Rich would like to create a short-term committee to review and respond to the proposal. Look for an email with documents and consider providing comments. Deb suggested to include an HR representative to help clarify the changes.
- We have open slots for visitors and guest speakers in the coming months. Please share ideas with Rich. It would be good to highlight each of our districts.
