  1. Call to Order – Meeting called to order at 1:14
  2. Guest Speaker: Mike DeLorenzo, Senior Associate Chancellor for Administration and Operations
    • Mr. DeLorenzo shared updates on return-to-work policies. When inside, all employees, students, and guest must be masked regardless of vaccination status. Testing remains available for anyone who cannot be vaccinated. Enhanced cleaning will continue and Wellness Support Associates will spot checking classrooms and buildings.

      • The committee will send a track changes version to HR for review

  1. Illinois Human Resources Report Deb Stone, Interim Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources
    • Comments on the hybrid work policy have been received. A lot of work is happening to ensure a smooth transition.
    • A 110-page report on hybrid and remote work policies and guidance has been issued. An Executive Summary of the report will be available soon.
    • The AP Development Fund has ha 15 requests with 2 pending. One has been declined. As of today, $5,115 in support has been funded.. As more opportunities are offered, we hope that APs will take advantage of the fund. CAP is encouraged to share with APs.
    • This month Civil Service overtime exempt employees will pivot to a vacation and sick leave policy that is consistent with APs.
    • A uniform system for vacation and sick leave reporting coming out and may change how some units collect benefits use.
    • Beginning August 1, the University provides six weeks of parental leave. The enhanced bereavement leave policy goes into effect August 16.

      • No additional updates
    • Action on the ByLaws Committee Report (August Meeting)
      • bylaws sent again to HR;
      • Mindy will provide a version to HR that shows the changes.

    • Concerns Hybrid/onsite work arrangements: see CAM announcement
    • Senate run-off
      • Two run offs – 3 and 11. Aaron Smith was winner district 3 and Elizabeth Meschewski won for district 11.
    • How do we Solicit for Public comment with Virtual meetings
      • Is there a better way to solicit public comments for our meetings? If you have ideas, contact Rich.
    • District newsletter template
      • A district newsletter to be sent out by district representatives has been proposed. The proposal is to create a template that can be customized for specific districts. The goal is to better engage with a broader array of APs across campus.
    • CAP District 3 will have an opening. Mindy is moving to a new district so her position will be open.
