  1. Call to Order
    • Brian Brauer called the meeting to order at 1:15.
  2. Guest Speaker: Chris Ochs, Clinical Counselor, Faculty Staff Assistance Center
    • Provided an overview of FSAC services for staff and families.
  3. Guest Speaker: Rebecca Smith, Professor of Epidemiology and Vet Med
    • Provided an overview of the University of Illinois COVID testing process.

  8. Academic Senator Reports
    • Collin Ruud, GIES College of Business and senator, presented and overview of the special session and student credit/no credit policy amendment adopted by the Senate. The amendment can be found here pdf (illinois.edu).
  9. Academic Senate Committee Reports
    • Faculty and Academic Staff Benefits: Brent West
      • Met on Tuesday, 12/1. Effort are continuing to assure parity in leave between APs and Civil Service employees and also ensure benefits are comparable with other like universities. Changes to bereavement and parental leave are under discussion. And adding another floating holiday is also under consideration.
    • Joint Advisory Committee on Investment, Licensing, and Naming Rights (William)
      • Have not met
    • University Statutes & Senate Procedures (USSP): Brent West
      1. New AP representative has been elected to the committee to replace Jeff Stein.
      2. A recommendation has been proposed to the senate bylaws to amend the election timing requirement to better match the senate schedule. The Senate election rules and the CAP bylaws need to be updated to reflect as well.
    • Ad Hoc Committee on Bylaws (Jayesh)
      1. No report.
    • Campus Administrative Manual Updates (Ann)
      1. No changes.
    • CAPE Awards Committee (Rich/Amber)
      1. The selection committee has been filled and nominations are in process.
    • Ad Hoc Committee on Harassment (Mindy)
      1. The committee work is likely finished. A motion to disband is expected in the coming weeks.
    • Outreach Committee (Allie)
      1. January speaker – Sean Garrick, VC for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
      2. February speaker – President Killeen
    • Procedures and Elections Committee (Allie)
      1. Nominations have been received to fill the District 11 vacancy.
    • Public Safety Advisory Committee (Brian)
      1. Members are providing review and advisory comments on University of Illinois Police policies.
    • Racism and Social Injustice (Pending OVCDI request)
      1. Waiting for a response to add an AP to this committee.
    • Special Events Advisory Committee (Brian)
      1. Providing guidance for in person events on both campus policy and COVID safety measures.
    • University Professional Personnel Advisory Committee (Brian)
      1. Reviewing benefits for APs to make sure that our benefits are in line with other comparable universities.
  1. Academic Human Resources Report Senior Associate Chancellor for Human Resources
    • When an employee tests positive for COVID, an automated text message will remind the individual to immediately isolate.
    • CU Public Health has asked for help with contact tracing. AHR is working with the college HR representatives to help gather information to share with CU Public Health.
    • The Chancellor will be announcing a staff voluntary retirement program.
    • AP-Civil Service audits are continuing.
